I think beauty includes inner beauty and outer beauty.
Inner beauty includes intelligence, knowledge, and virtue.
Outer beauty usually means the appearance.
I think the most beautiful person has not only outer beauty but also inner beauty.
The outer beauty is inborn. We cannot change it very much.
Therefore, we should emphasize on attaining inner beauty.
We should develop our inner beauty by absorbing more knowledge and cultivating good virtue.

Stress, Health, and Coping

Today I made a presentation in my psychology class with my group.

We introduced the topic, “Stress, Health, and Coping”.

And we use a famous movie as a good example.

It is called “the pursuit of happiness”.

I think it is really touching. And it derives from a true story.

A man who lost his job and become very poor worked very hard to raise his son by himself.

His wife left them because she couldn’t tolerate poverty.

The man didn’t give up. He tried very hard on his new job.

He wanted to be a rich and successful stock business' salesman.

In the end, he did a really great job.

He owned a big stock company and became a very rich man.

I love this movie because the man is really brave.

He encouraged me not to give up even if I am in a bad situation.

If I work hard, I can still have chance to pursue my happiness successfully.

And the story teaches me that stress can not only be a pressure but also a motivation. Stress is not always bad. It has some good function.

The most important is that we should learn how to cope up with stress.

And the movie is a really good example that we should learn from the man’s wit.

last year passed
new year just begins
and then
my first semester in university's life is going to end up

this semester
i adjust to a completely new environment
actually it is a pretty hard time
i spend many times commuting between school and my home
although our school is really big and beautiful
i have to say that it is really far away from the prosperous Taipei City
therefore it is really exhausted for students who commute

time passes really fast
my fist semester in university is going to be over
actually i stiil have no sence about my life in university
it seems that i can't find my goal in this school
i feel vacant in my deep heart
i think i work hard but i don't know what i am doing
it is a really difficult task for me to solve
i should find a right direction to let me follow it

an amazing fact of a disaster

i just read one article on my sociology textbook
and there is a story which gives us awareness of deviance
we should use this awareness to distinguish whether an act is a deviant behavior or not

it records a disaster happening in the early of 1970's
there was an airplane which crashed in the Andes Moutains in South America
almost every passengers were dead
only 27 people survivored
unfortunately they were marooned at 12,000 feet in frezzing weather and deep snow
and they just had a small amount of chocolate and some wine
the circumstance was really bad
after few days
they heard in the radio that the search for them had been canceled

they had no idea what to do
they suffered from cold and hunger
after certain days
some people proposed that they should eat the dead crash victins
in order to survive
at first only a few ate the human meat
but soon the others began to eat too
but they refused to eat the lungs, skin, head and genitals

at the end of this terrible catastrophe
they sent 3 men to ask for help
they walked for 10 days
eventually they entered Chile by climbing over the mountains
the whole group was finally rescued

this story makes a deep impression on me
it is so hard to imagine that we should eat conspecific creature- human beings in order to survive
i think it needs lots of courage to do this
if i were in that circumstance(i hope i wouldn't hace to face up with this)
maybe i would eat the victims while crying
feel sorry for them!!!!

it talks about the colleage students use telephone to contact with their parents "reporting everythig"
and the experts disapprove of this situation
she says now every students get a cell phone because of this advanced time
they use cell phone to talk to their friends or even to their parents
when they face up with some difficulties
they call their parents
and the unbeliveble example the author gives is that
a mom even called his son every morning to wake him up
or his son might be late to the class

the experts are really worried about this situation
they think that colleage students should learn independence
they have to solve every problems by theirselves or by finding the resources in the campus
not to call to their parents and ask for help
they should learn how to deal with different problems
because those problems might be their problems again when having a job in the future

therefore, the experts ask parents not to help children solve every problems
they are old enough to find some ways by theirselves

i think this article is meaningful to me, as a colleage student
i figure out that i am not a baby anymore
i have to be dependent
although i still live in my home
i necessnarily have to deal with most of the problems by myself

i am reading my pshychology textbook
i find that emotions have amazing magical powers
it is hard to believe that there are so many significant theories and explanations about emotions

the most surprising thing i get
is that
emotions are seperated into two totally different types
1.approach emotions
such as happiness, joy, love
they are all positive
2.withdrawl emotions
such as hate, disgust, fear
they are negative
and the interesting thing is that
when we have more approach emotions
our left frontal lobe will be more active than the right one at that moment
in contrast
our right frontal lobe will be energectic when we have withdrawl emotions

we can prove this by scanning the patients who have mental problems
the evidence shows that their right frontal lobes are more active than formal people

it is really cool to find this fascinating things
it seems that emotions are common
and they exist in our daily life
but if i don't read the article
i would never know this profound secret

I went to see a fantastic movie with my friends

it is called American Gangster

it is apparentlt a feature film

it talks about the drug issue in 1970's in New York

the leading men are played by丹佐華盛頓 and羅素克洛

Frank(丹佐華盛頓) is an important role in this film

he is a black

but he is intellegent in doing business

and his big business is selling drugs

Ricky(羅素克洛)is a dictator who tries to arrest Frank

after seeing this movie,

I think drug is really dangerous

the people who are addicted to it would have a terrible future

and people who sell drug would be arrested by the government

and they really influence the lives of the drug addicts

I really suggest that we should not touch this dangerous stuff

I am so scared because my computer has some problems when I opened it after a peroid of displaying off
the screen didn't show out the window
it was just like a dark mirror
and then it started to play a music
a girl was singing
I was really afraid because it was 12am
and then after the song the girl started to say something
it wasn't very clear but I started to understand it was an AD of the adult sites
I was so afraid of the virus which was going to attack my computer
then I decided to turn off my computer in an incorrect way
now it can use again
but I start to use Norton to scan my computer to check whether there is virus in my computer

worst of all
I couldn't enter my English blog at first
then I surf the Q&A page
it answerd me like the following
"Take a deep breathe- the world isn't ending."----->really funny

the role music plays in my life

I think music plays a crucial role in my life. When I was a little girl , I started to learn to play a piano. At first, I felt it was really interesting. I liked to listen to the melody which is played by me, even though it was a very easy one. I felt proud of myself when I listened to it. As a result, I think music could enhance my confident when I was little.
Now I think music is my personal doctor of psychology. When I feel frustrated , I will play a CD and enjoy it in my bedroom by myself. It helps me relax and cure my blue mood. It seems like we can communicate with each other. Actually, I can't chat with it. But the song can give me energy to become happier . Therefore, I think music can really comfort me.
Although I am not a professional musician, I stiil live wtith it everyday in my life. If I lose it,my life will be tougher to live!

AN ENGLISH SONG

this Tuesday I went to the English cram school as usual

that day one of my job is to help a child review her lesson

it was quite interesting

because in her lesson there was an activity which was called "Let's sing"

and she had to sing the song aloudly because the song will be one part of their big test

she sang the song with confidence and I thought she really did a good job

it's a lovely song

and the song also recalled my memory

I remembered that I also learned the same song 9 years ago

and at that time I really liked the English songs in the textbooks

because they could add more fun in the class

today I found a new phrase from the paper of the student of the English cram school

where I do my part-time job

that is "do a cartwheel"

it means 翻跟斗

it is really interesting

because the performance of cartwheel looks like the cartwheel rolling

I think it is easy to memorize this phrase

and it is really interesting

maybe English vocabulary could be as interesting as the word," cartwheel"

therefore the children can memorize the words easily

and their test paper would't have so much mistakes

I really hope so !!!

Halloween is coming!

after school I went to the English cram school to do my part-time job

and the teacher there asked me to decorate the classroom because halloween is coming

I am not very good at painting

actually it is very terrible

therefore, I had no idea about the decoration

I tried very hard to paint a pumpkin

but the students there said it was like a tomato

I felt frustrated about her word

after all ,I did know I wouldn't have any good performance in painting

altough happy halloween is coming

I can't feel any happiness because I really don't want to decorate the classroom
